Recipe: Yam Butter

YAM BUTTER

It is so empowering to learn to feed our bodies and our family’s bodies with deeply nourishing food. At times this can seem complicated or time-consuming. At Shine Living Community, we like to keep it simple, accessible, and doable!

This delicious yam butter recipe is just that, and you can use it in a ton of different ways.

Yield: 3 cups | Prep time: 5 mins | Cook time: 55 mins

Ingredients:

  • 2 large sweet potato or yams

  • 3 Tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 Teaspoon sea salt to taste

How to:

1. Preheat oven to 375*

2. Clean yams with water and poke yams with a fork. Bake until cooked through and soft, about 45-55 minutes.

3. Let the yams cool enough to handle them. Halve and add them to the food processor.

4. Add remaining ingredients and blend.

5. Chill until cool.

Yam Butter is delicious spread on toast, as a dip with pita, on sandwiches, as an addition to salads and so much more! This keeps well in the refrigerator for 5-7 days.

Enjoy!
